Welcome to the Super Admin Setup Guide for R1 Discover. This guide will assist Super Admins in effectively setting up and managing their new R1 Discover account. From initial login to user account creation, follow these steps to ensure a seamless setup process.

Getting Started

Welcome to R1 Discover! Before we can get to customizing R1 Discover for your organization, we need to first take care of getting you setup in your R1 Discover Super Admin account.

  1. Getting Started with My Account: This quick guide will walk through what to expect when your account is created, and how to find your login credentials for R1 Discover.

  2. My First Login: This quick guide will walk through logging into R1 Discover for the first time, reviewing and accepting our Terms & Conditions, and changing your temporary password.

  3. R1 Discover Profile Overview: This quick guide will help familiarize you with the layout and features of the R1 Discover Profile and walk through how to navigate the platform effectively.

    1. Be sure to take a moment and complete your profile and don't forget to add your photo.

  4. Bookmark R1 Discover on your Devices: A simple guide on bookmarking R1 Discover to your phone, tablet, laptop, and/or computer to always be able easily access R1 Discover.

Setting Up Your R1 Discover Environment

  1. Creating Locations: Define the physical or virtual locations used in your organization. These locations will be used to set permissions for your team and also be used for analyzing data on your dashboards.

  2. Creating Programs: Define the programs within your organization. These programs will be used to set permissions for your team, assign curriculum for users, and also for analyzing data on your dashboards.

  3. Mapping Curriculum to Programs: Decide which Topics & Activities will be available to users for each program by mapping the curriculum to each program. This step is important for customizing the learning experience for users.

  4. Customizing Dashboard Settings: Personalize how information is displayed on the user dashboards. Adjust settings to highlight the most relevant content for your users.

  5. Adding Admins/Practitioners: Onboard your team by adding admin and practitioner accounts. Set appropriate permissions to ensure they have access to the specific programs & locations required by their role and determine whether or not they can create/modify user accounts. (Be sure to also review the permission matrix when setting up admins)

  6. Creating User Accounts: Finally, create accounts for your users. Assign them to the right programs and locations, and set them on their journey of learning, development, and self discovery within R1 Discover.

Starting Your First R1 Discover Activity

The process to begin your own R1 Discover Journey by taking your first activity is straightforward and can be done in a couple of ways. Whether you’re starting from the Home Dashboard or from the My Topics page, you’ll find the process intuitive and user-friendly.

  1. Home Dashboard: Start an Activity Widget: Search and start an activity right from the home dashboard. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

  2. My Topics Page: Search all topics/activities, access the full resource library, and begin your first activity from here. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

R1 Discover has many activities across a diverse set of topics, there are currently two types of activities that can be taken within each topic with more coming soon:

Explore Activities:

Explore activities are intended to provide an interactive overview of R1 topic models. The purpose is to provide a high level understanding of the model and encourage users to reflect on their own experiences as they relate to the models.

Identify Activities:

Identify activities are intended to take users on a deeper journey of self-discovery as they explore a specific topic. These use interactive card-sorting exercises to help users reflect and have an internal conversation with themselves to see where they are inside the topic models. They are designed to promote self-discovery and empower users with vocabulary to better express themselves.

Resuming an R1 Discover Activity

There are times when we are unable to finish an R1 Discover activity. The great news is that your progress is saved along the way, so you're able to pickup right where you left off. Activities can be resumed from two places in the R1 Discover Profile:

  1. Home Dashboard - Review My Activities: This widget will list all of your recent activities, you are able to filter by activities that weren't completed. Find your activity, and then pick up where you left off. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

  2. My Activities - My Activity Log: This is your full activity history. Here you can search through all of your incomplete activities and select to resume any of them. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

Reviewing a completed R1 Discover Activity

In R1 Discover, every activity is saved in your profile. This means you are able to come back at any point in the future and review your activity history and pull up completed activity reports. Activities can be reviewed from a few places in the R1 Discover Profile:

  1. Home Dashboard - Review My Activities: This widget will list all of your recent activities, you are able to filter by completed activities. Find your activity and click to open the report. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

  2. My Activities - My Activity Log: This is your full activity history. Here you can search through all of your completed activities and select to review the final report. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

Tracking Your Progress & Results

R1 Discover not only captures your activity data, we also bring it to life in interactive dashboards. Not only can you review your reports, you can review and engage with the dashboards to review your progress and trends.

  1. My Activities - My Dashboard: The My Dashboard page in R1 Discover is a visual representation of your activity results. It enables you to see your results across multiple topics without having to open individual reports. It's a dynamic page allowing you to totally customize the view.   2. My Activities - My Trend: The My Trend page in R1 Discover is a visual representation of up to the last 10 times you completed one specific activity. It enables you to compare current to prior results without having to open individual reports. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started with My Trend.

Reviewing a completed R1 Discover Activity

In R1 Discover, every activity by every user is saved to your account. This means you are able to come back at any point in the future and review the activity history and completed activity reports for all of your users. Activities can be reviewed from a few places in the R1 Discover Profile:

  1. Home Dashboard - Review User Activities: This widget will list recent activities for all of your users, you are able to filter between users and admins, and click to open the report of completed activities. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

  2. User Activities - User Activity Log: This is the full activity history of all your users and admins. Here you can search through all the completed activities and select to review the reports. Follow the link for the full walk through on how to get started.

Tracking User Progress & Results

R1 Discover not only captures all of the activity data, we also bring it to life with interactive dashboards. Not only can you view user reports, you can engage with the dashboards to review their progress and trends.

  1. User Activities - User Dashboard: The User Dashboard page in R1 Discover is a visual representation of users activity results. It enables you to see their results across multiple topics without having to open individual reports. It's a dynamic page allowing you to totally customize the view.   2. User Activities - User Trend: The User Trend page in R1 Discover is a visual representation of up to the last 10 times a user completed one specific activity.   3. Company Dashboard: The Company Dashboard is the implementation monitoring tool for practitioners and admins of R1 Discover. It is designed to help practitioners and admins monitor user activity and engagement.
